DBA and Network/System Administrator, IT
Currently, we are seeking a DBA and Network/System Administrator, IT to be responsible for:
- Database design and development
- Database administration including installation, managing backups, scheduled jobs, monitoring, performance optimization, migration strategies, security, etc.
- Writing stored procedures, functions and triggers
- Managing the quality of production data
- Establishing data warehousing and data mining capabilities
- Gathering and documenting functional and technical design specifications
- Setup, administration and troubleshooting for all network and telephony S/W and H/W
- Work with outside consultants for infrastructure planning, configuration and management
- Support daily, company-wide network and system operations
- Develop and document network and security-related policies and procedures
- Be involved in the proactive monitoring of environments used for development, internal and production purposes
Position Requirements
- 2-5 years of prior SQL Server DBA experience
- 2-5 years experience administering small to mid-sized business technology infrastructures
- Experience maintaining SQL Server database environments for high-volume applications
- Experience with partitioning, replication, multi-level security, clustering, distributed transactions, data warehousing and data mining
- Familiarity with SQL Server 2005 Integration Services, Reporting Services,
- Analysis Services and Notification Services
- Experience with indexing and full-text indexing
- Excellent T-SQL skills are a must
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, Firewalls, VPNs, routers and related H/W
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline
- CISCO certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) strongly preferred
- Experience with Windows administration of Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server 2005, Windows Server 2003 and IIS
- Experience with setup and management of telephony systems (VoIP, Avaya, Cisco)
- Experience designing, installing, configuring and maintaining Windows Server 2003 environments
- Must possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, small-team environment
- Must be open to after-hours support when necessary (includes nights and possibly weekends)
Other experience: (Related skills viewed as highly desirable)
- Willing to assist in desktop support and new employee setup procedures
- Willing to learn and master new technologies
- Experience with virtualization software such as VMWare
